Ambrosia Sycamore Woodturning Blanks sizes and prices!

Ambrosia Sycamore is a light colored wood with tints of pink. It contains streaks of color which stand out against the lighter surrounding wood. The streaks of color are produced by the tiny ambrosia beetle which leaves behind a fungal deposit as it tunnels through the wood. The amount of ambrosia streaking will vary between blanks. This turning wood machines well and is resistant to splitting due to the interlocked grain. Most pieces will only contain 2-3 streaks of color produced by the ambrosia beetle. The heavy patterns found in ambrosia maple are not typical of ambrosia sycamore.

Our woodturning bowl blanks and spindle blanks are green wood unless otherwise stated. They are sealed in wax to slow or prevent drying.
